It’s time for an update.

• To begin with, a special word of appreciation for the company’s principal investor, Yuko Matsuoka Harris, translator and publisher of the famous Harry Potter series in Japan, who having taken the plunge to buy the vineyard with the company and brand back in 2017, has shown her usual good grace throughout a process of change.
• We appreciate the personal engagement of Mike Press in the making of wines up until the 2023 vintage. Mike ceased his involvement with our company as of February 2024, while retaining a small equity position.
• The wines have been made at the same winery in McLaren Vale for several years. In May 2023 we were proud to go into partnership with Olivers’ Taranga as owners of this state-of-the-art facility, now named Oliver & Press Winemakers.
• As of the 2024 vintage, MikePressWines are made by Josh Waechter, General Manager and Winemaker at Oliver & Press, who had worked closely with Mike for several years (read more)

• We are delighted with the approach that Josh is taking to the making of MikePressWines.. Members and distributors can expect some very good news on both quality and value as Josh works his magic. We are confident the wines and the brand will be stronger than ever.
• We greatly appreciate how Press Club members have responded enthusiastically to recent special offers, and we thank distributors throughout Australia and Village Cellars in Japan for their positive responses to the information we have provided about future supplies.
• To keep costs of production and distribution down, maintaining and improving the company’s track record for quality and value, we continue to work closely with our accountants, Henson Lloyd, aimed at achieving efficiency through an emphasis on proximity – with local bottling and distribution. We will have some more details to share shortly about benefits this process will bring to the ongoing evolution of MikePressWines.
• As you can see here, we value the MikePressWines history but importantly, ‘Our Story’ will continue to evolve over time.
