2021 Sauvignon Blanc | SOLD OUT
$155.00 per 12 bottle case
Variety: Sauvignon Blanc
Vintage: 2021
Planted: 2004
Vineyard: Mike Press Single Vineyard, Lobethal, Adelaide Hills
Alcohol: 13.5%
When: Drink now
Food: Clean and crisp food just like the wine. Think ceviche, oysters, octopus or something with some kick like Thai cuisine.
Our Sauvignon Blanc grapes are picked at exactly the right Baume to ensure that the final wine is clean and crisp, while providing good amounts of fruit aromas.
The wine shows a balance of green characters without showing anything overzealous, think green pea and kiwi fruit on the palate to start and lovely acidity and crunch to make the finish clean and savoury.
“Mike Press is always value for money, but this wine takes it to another level. It’s crawling with grassy, green pea, citrus and kiwi fruit that take a millisecond to fill the palate, crunchy acidity there to provide an emphatic, cleansing finish. The one caveat is its need for food, the cuisine largely irrelevant, but Chinese/Thai/ Malaysian would always fit the bill.” -James Halliday
“It’s a cracker. Lovely varietal nose and full fruit flavours.”
-Mike Press

The 2021 vintage is stunning! More lifted fruit aromas than the ’20…fabulous wine can I say…

This is a superb Sauvignon Blanc. I don’t know how it scored only 91 points with Halliday. I used to enjoy Cloudy Bay and Shaw and Smith, but they are not as good as before.
I had decided to give SB away, last year but the 21 vintage MP is just superb. And that’s before you consider the price .Thanks MP and team
